Secondary Education

At Secondary level the curriculum again adapts to suit our pupils’ changing academic and educational needs. We continue to promote the importance of a broad artistic education, which includes Art as a compulsory subject and Drama from Years 7 to 9 (first, second and third years of secondary school). Pupils also start to study either French or German as a second foreign language.

The Curriculum also becomes more specialised; the General Science programme is separated into Biology, Chemistry, Technology and Physics, and Social Science becomes two separate subjects, Geography and History.

During the Secondary Education stage students consolidate habits of:

  • Perseverance
  • Hard work
  • Commitment
  • Responsibility

The Careers Advice and University Guidance Programme (Agora Careers Advice and Guidance Service) is led by two experts in this field and is offered to students from Year 10 onwards (fourth year of secondary school) to help them to look at their options for careers and University, and to help them with the decision-making process. In Year 10, students become more focused on the subjects that they will study at Baccalaureate in order to prepare them to move successfully into this final phase of their education at school. In Year 10, pupils can choose to get a head start on their IB courses by commencing a pre-IB course.
